Once upon a time, the idea of a Las Vegas residency for punk legend Billy Idol would have been laughable. But those days are long gone, replaced by an entertainment scene less focused on safe and sanitized and more on performers who can put butts in seats. Preferably the seats of the Pearl Concert Theater, as far as the Palms is concerned.
In September, the off-Strip casino, which is in the midst of a $620 million reinvention, announced Idol as the Pearl's second rock resident, following Blink 182, whose residency debuted at the resort this summer.
Produced by Live Nation Las Vegas, Idol's 10-show run will kick off Jan. 18 and run through October and feature numbers from his deep catalogue of hits, including "Rebel Yell" and "White Wedding."
"The 'Billy Idol: Las Vegas 2019' residency perfectly complements the diverse range of musical acts we're booking at the Pearl, and we know these shows will resonate with our audience," said Palms general manager Jon Gray via release.
Tickets for "Billy Idol: Las Vegas 2019" are $35 to $150. For more information, visit palms.com.
