More than 100 breweries and 500 beers will be represented at the 10th Great Vegas Festival of Beer April 3 and 4 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
The events organizer Motley Brews sponsors the festival, expected to attract up to 10,000 people. It includes the Mad Craft Experience and the Great Tasting.
"It's really humbling to see how this festival has grown over the last 10 years, alongside the amazing craft beer community, particularly those local breweries who have been with us since the Year 1," Motley Brews' CEO Brian Chapin said. About 8,500 people attended last year.
Ten Las Vegas chefs will compete in several categories of cooking dishes with craft beer in the Mad Craft Experience. Those attending can sample the food; local food critics and industry leaders will judge.
Award-winning mixologist Adam Rains of local hot spot Golden Tiki bar has designed a craft cocktail competition, and breweries will compete for Best 10th Anniversary Beer, Best Beer Blend and Best Beer Experiment, among other titles.
The Great Tasting will have selection of craft brews from throughout Nevada, the region and the nation. There will be tavern games, beer seminars, karaoke, a silent disco and other activities.
Motley Brews, a team of event professionals and craft beer enthusiasts, has also produced the Downtown Brew Fest and the Hopped Taco Throwdown.
The Mad Craft Experience, from 7 to 10 p.m. on April 3, is $55 with online purchase before March 4 ($60 after that date). The Great Tasting, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 4, is $40 for general admission, $50 for 2 p.m. entry and $95 for VIP 2 p.m. entry when purchased online before March 4 ($45, $55 and $110, respectively, after March 4).
