It is one of Las Vegas' iconic venues, a combination cocktail bar and lounge with a golden ship that rocks and swings on invisible waves.
The delightfully kitsch Cleopatra's Barge, which dates to 1970 at Caesars Palace, has hosted many notable performers over the years. Matt Goss held a years-long residency inside the storied, club and recently acts like CeeLo Green and Blues Traveler have take the Barge's stage.
On Nov. 30, a new show will move into the casino lounge, musical revue "The Cocktail Cabaret." The 70-minute cabaret performance is created by Keith Thompson (formerly of "Jersey Boys") and pianist Philip Fortenberry (whose hands doubled for Michael Douglas' in HBO's Liberace movie "Behind the Candelabra").
Joining Fortenberry on stage will be a three-piece band and vocalists with Broadway credits to their name, including Niki Scalera ("Hairspray," "Tarzan") and Eric Jordan Young (Ragtime, Chicago), as well as Strip star Maren Wade and rising singer Daniel Emmett, singing songs like "Viva Las Vegas," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
"The Cocktail Cabaret" will perform Wednesday-Saturday at 5 p.m. for $55 per ticket.
