Citing a need to better "reflect the voices and perspectives of the world around us," Disney will update its classic attraction, Jungle Cruise.
The attraction at both Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., and the Magic Kingdom Park at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, will receive updates.
On the ride, guests board boats for tours of rivers around the world led by wisecracking skippers.

A skipper and passengers caught between a rhino and a hard place in a rendering for Disney's Jungle Cruise.
"As part of this story update, we'll get to follow a skipper and his passengers as their journey goes awry," Disney Imagineer Kevin Lively -- himself a former skipper -- said in a statement.
This marks the first time a skipper will also be represented by a show figure in the attraction. Guests will see the skipper's boat split apart and get boarded by chimps, "with monkey business ensuing," Lively said.
Carmen Smith, executive of creative development and inclusion strategies at Walt Disney Imagineering, said the update will drive the focus to the much-loved skippers.
"As Imagineers, it is our responsibility to ensure experiences we create and stories we share reflect the voices and perspectives of the world around us," Smith said. "With Jungle Cruise, we're bringing to life more of what people love -- the humor and wit of our incredible skippers, while making needed updates."
