Disneyland Resort has established the guidelines for the reopening of its two Southern California theme parks on April 30.
The parks, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, have been closed for more than a year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Disney announced the details about reopening in a post on the Disney Parks Blog.
When the parks do reopen, similar to procedures at the Walt
Disney World Resort in Florida, those who wish to visit will have to
make park reservations in advance. That ensures parks do not exceed the
capacity they are permitted under state guidelines.
For
guests ages 3 and up, both a theme park reservation and a valid admission
ticket for the same park, on the same day will be required to enter
Disneyland or California Adventure. Current protocols say that only California residents may visit
the parks, in groups no larger than three households.
Existing Disneyland Resort ticket holders will have first shot at theme park reservations before the general public.
Guests holding Park Hopper tickets will be able to choose which park to start their visit in when making reservations. They can then visit the other park starting at 1 p.m.
On April 12, the park reservation system will launch no earlier than 8 a.m. Pacific time (PT). Guests who already have valid theme park tickets can start making reservations at that time.
On April 15, theme park ticket sales will resume no earlier than 8 a.m. PT.

Staying at a Disneyland Resort hotel does not guarantee a theme park reservation for guests. They will still need both a park reservation and a valid admission ticket to enter.
Multiday ticket holders will need to book separate park reservations each day they wish to visit the parks.
As of now, hours at both Disneyland and California Adventure are expected to be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Disney plans to begin to accept dining reservations for select locations on April 22. Guests can book up to 60 days in advance.
Other safety measures, like mandatory face coverings and temperature checks, will also be in place at the Disneyland Resort.
