You're sitting at the bar with friends, socializing and having a good time, but you're hungry and a liquid diet isn't going to cut it. It's an unhappy choice: Stay and go unfed, or give up your barstool and ditch your crew to fill your stomach.
Well, the Linq Hotel & Casino has had about enough of watching guests leave bars in search of sandwiches. Earlier this month, the resort announced the arrival of mobile food ordering for customers at watering holes like TAG Sports Bar, 3535, Catalyst Bar and O'Sheas Casino.
How does it work? Easy. Text the world "Nook" to 555-888, and a reply will link you to the ordering interface to summon grub from Nook Cafe like cheeseburgers, breakfast burritos or banh mi. During the ordering process, you'll input your table or seat number so delivery staff will know where to find you.
So far, mobile ordering is only available from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. and only from Nook, but a Linq spokesperson says the resort is looking at variety of options for the future. Here's an idea they should probably jump on: Delivery cupcakes from Sprinkles.
