The Shores Resort & Spa, the only AAA Four Diamond, oceanfront resort in Central Florida, recently changed ownership and management. The property was bought by Chinese investment company Uhon in December and is being run by the Pyramid Hotel Group.
"With the recent change in ownership, we've introduced a number of special touches and redoubled our efforts and commitment to providing outstanding guest experiences," said general manager Richard Byrd.
Among the more notable renovations is the debut of 14 pool-level cabana suites, giving those guests direct access to the pool deck and beach as well as their own private outdoor space, including a flat-screen TV, ceiling fan, lounge chairs and comfortable seating area.
Other new touches include the installation of a dry sauna at the resort's Indulge spa, and complimentary, in-room doggie beds (which must be reserved) for overnight stays at the pet-friendly property. Also new is the Sunday Beachside Brunch at the oceanfront Azure restaurant, also known for its monthly wine dinners.
Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a chilled glass of Champagne or sparkling cider at check-in and are provided with a Shores S'mores kit, a signature amenity at the resort that encourages guests to utilize the oceanfront firepits.
A pool concierge will be available daily during summer, offering cold towels, infused water, and daily poolside treats (frozen fruit, smoothie samples, and more).
The resort is situated on a quiet stretch of Atlantic shoreline south of Daytona in the quieter Daytona Beach Shores community. It's just over an hour's drive from Orlando and is also a certified Florida Green Lodging resort.
