A full-service hotel offering guests on-site marina access is opening Jan. 5 on Stock Island, which is adjacent to and part of Key West. Oceans Edge Key West Hotel & Marina is the first luxury-branded hotel to open on Stock Island.
The three-story building also has an unusually large footprint for a Key West hotel, set on 20 acres of tropically landscaped grounds with nearly one mile of oceanfront property where the Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico meet. The hotel complex, with six pools, includes a marina that was purchased by the developer, the Singh Co. It also happens to be the nearest U.S.-based marina to Cuba and holds more fishing records than any other marina in the world, especially appealing to sport- and saltwater-fishing enthusiasts.
All 175 king or double-queen guestrooms offer a balcony and waterfront view. Standard rooms can be combined with suites that include a separate sitting area to form a two-bedroom villa (with a wet bar but no kitchen).
The dog-friendly resort includes a dog park, a Starbucks, an on-site watersports and paddle shop and the Yellow Fin Bar & Grille, a waterfront, indoor-outdoor full service restaurant featuring American fare with Caribbean influences and design that pays homage to the working industrial neighborhoods of Stock Island.
