The Disneyland Resort is extending its Downtown Disney District by opening several shopping and dining venues in Disney California Adventure to guests, but the theme park itself -- as well as the Disneyland park -- will remain closed.

Downtown Disney will be extended beginning in November to include some Buena Vista Street venues within California Adventure.

Guests will be able to shop at Elias & Co., Julius Katz & Sons and Kingswell Camera Shop. Disney is also opening dining venues Trolley Treats, Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Caf, Carthay Circle Lounge and Smokejumpers Grill. Smokejumpers Grill is around the corner from Buena Vista Street.

The news comes as California theme parks and the California Attractions and Parks Associations (CAPA) continue to butt heads with Gov. Gavin Newsom, whose administration recently released reopening guidelines for theme parks. CAPA said under the new guidelines, the state's largest parks, including Disneyland, will be forced to remain closed for the "foreseeable future."
