Visitors to the Strat Hotel, Casino & SkyPod in Las Vegas have come to expect unparalleled views and death-defying thrill rides, but now they have reasons to linger a little longer after a remodel with new food and beverage options.

The indoor/outdoor Observation Deck in the Skypod on the 108th and 109th floors has been reimagined. The new 108 Drinks features craft cocktails and both bar and lounge seating. The new 108 Eats by James Trees serves gourmet bites, homemade ice cream and sandwiches. Trees, a Las Vegas native, is a Culinary Institute of America-trained chef who opened the popular Esther's Kitchen in downtown Las Vegas last year.

The Observation Deck atop the Strat, more than 1,000 feet above the Strip, offers 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Valley. The indoor 108th floor is the jumping off point for SkyJump, a controlled descent from 855 feet high; a new box office for the properties thrill rides a floor or more above; and Exhilarate 108, a retail store for souvenirs and novelty items.

Stairs lead to the outdoor viewing area on the 109th floor, which has mounted binoculars and access to two of the Strat's thrill rides: Insanity and X-Scream. Another ride, the Big Shot, is one level up, where the SkyPod tops out at 1,149 feet above the ground.

Both floors of the Observation Deck are available for private events, with options for groups of up to 1,000 guests. In addition to food and beverage offerings from 108 Eats and 108 Drinks, groups may select from catering menus provided by the hotel's food and beverage department.
