The Opal Sands resort on Florida’s Clearwater Beach opened Feb. 22.

Rates for the 230 rooms and suites in the 15-story hotel, which bends in a semicircle along the Gulf of Mexico coastline, start at $254 and go up to more than $1,300.

Every unit offers a private balcony with a view of the Gulf, according to resort literature. Amenities include a zero-entry outdoor pool, a sun deck, a spa and fitness center, a beach bar and indoor and outdoor event space. Sea-guini, the hotel's primary restaurant, serves Italian seafood with a tropical flair.
