In April, Paradise Pier at Disneyland Resort's Disney
California Adventure will reopen as Pixar Pier and feature the Pixar Fest.
The pier will feature "neighborhoods" inspired
by Pixar movies such as "The Incredibles," "Inside Out" and "Toy
Story." It will open on April 13 and will kick off with a celebration that
will span the Disneyland and California Adventure parks, beginning with "Together
Forever -- A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular," a fireworks show above
Disneyland. The fireworks show will be accompanied by projections that will be
on display on the Sleeping Beauty Castle, on water screens over the Rivers of
America, on the facade of "It's a Small World," and on buildings on
Main Street.
The Pixar Play Parade will make its way through Disneyland
with a few new additions, including characters from the movies "Up"
and "Inside Out."
Also on April 13, the "Paint the Night" parade will return,
featuring characters from "Toy Story," "Monsters Inc." and "Cars,"
being lit up by 1.5 million LED lights to the backdrop of music from the
movies, all making their way through the California Adventure park.
During Pixar Fest, a collection of Pixar shorts will be
featured at the Sunset Showcase Theater at California Adventure, and a musical
troupe will perform Pixar-inspired numbers in the Paradise Gardens area of California
Adventure, where there will abe Pixar character meet-and-greets, crafts and an
activity area.
Pixar Fest charm bracelets will be available for purchase,
with multiple bracelet options and a variety of charms featuring messages and
Pixar characters.
Characters such as Buzz, Woody and Jessie from "Toy
Story," Mike and Sulley from "Monsters Inc.," Nemo and Dory from
"Finding Nemo," and Lightning McQueen and Mater from "Cars"
will make appearances throughout the fest.
