Known for its bawdy theatrical productions, Spiegelworld will open its first dining and cocktail concept, Superfrico, Sept. 24, in conjunction with the return of "Opium" at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
Calling the cuisine "Italian American Psychedelic," Spiegelworld promises the restaurant will have the "anything-goes, submersive splurges" of entertainment it generates in "Opium," "Absinthe" (Caesars Palace) and "Atomic Saloon Show" (Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian).
"People come to Vegas expecting the extraordinary," said Ross Mollison, Spiegelworld's founder. "They want to be wowed; to see, do and taste things they've never seen, done or tasted before -- and when they visit Superfrico, that's exactly what they'll get."

Artists, performers, cooks and bartenders will combine talents at the "ultimate be-all, end-all, taste-all house party," he said.
The menu will honor Sicilian recipes and traditions. But like Spiegelworld's productions, it will veer off-script with unexpected ingredients and techniques in pizzas, pastas, steaks, seafood, small plates and desserts.
"Opium" performers will pass through Superfrico's bars, lounges and dining rooms to and from the stage in what the company calls a "clusterflourish."
More than 20 pieces from Spiegelworld's art collection, illustrating the company's circus roots and mischievous sensibility, will be displayed. New York-based Adehla Lee's "Psycho Pop Party," a candy-colored acrylic painting, was the first to be commissioned.
Reservations can be made at Superfrico.com. "Opium" tickets are on sale with performances at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays.
