From Aug. 13 to 15, Cason Travel & Tours will host a Green Jazz Festival at the Resort on Mount Charleston, located 45 minutes from the Strip. In addition to music, food and shopping, the festival will also feature environmental awareness, education, sustainability initiatives and community outreach.
Friday night performances run from 7 to 11 p.m., Saturday performances run from 2 to 11 p.m. and the Sunday Jazz Brunch runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
After-parties follow the Friday and Saturday concerts. Guests will also have the opportunity to take part in Green Living Workshops on solar usage conducted by Bombard Renewable Energy. Water conservation programs and energy efficient products will be on display.
Artist scheduled to appear are Althea Rene,Impromp2, Michael Ward, Dominic Amato, Ghalib Ghallab, Phil Flowers, Paris Red, Marian Penick, Adrian Burse and Lao Tizer with Karen Briggs.
