Memphis-based American Queen Steamboat Co. (AQSC) has added three people to its sales and management team: Nicola Volpe, who has joined the company as vice president of hotels; Barbara Davis, who is now business development manager; and Krystle Sampson, who has been named regional sales director.

Volpe hails from Prestige Cruise Holdings, where he served as director of new builds and hotel operations. While there, he helped launch the Regent Seven Seas Explorer, and was involved in managing several other newbuild and refurbishment projects. He has also worked at Oceania, Renaissance, Royal Viking Line and Sitmar Cruises. He will initially be responsible for overseeing the hotel department for AQSC's forthcoming American Duchess, slated to launch  this summer.

Davis joined the AQSC sales team in April and has been charged with building awareness and interest in the AQSC fleet with both agents and consumers. She is working remotely in Southern California and reports to Bob Salmon, vice president of sales.

Sampson, who has been with AQSC since the launch of the Pacific Northwest paddlewheeler the American Empress in 2014, assumed her new position in May. She is responsible for representing AQSC in the Midwest. Sampson will be working remotely from St. Louis, Mo., and also reports to Salmon.
