Luxury river cruise line Scenic has added an Egypt cruise-tour to its 2018 offering that includes a Nile River sailing on Sanctuary Retreats' 36-passenger Sanctuary Sun Boat III.

The 11-day "Treasures of Egypt" itinerary combines a five-day Nile sailing with six days touring Egypt. For the Nile sailing, Scenic has secured a private charter of the recently refurbished Sanctuary Sun Boat III, which features a mix of cabins and suites, a pool on the sun deck with tented lounge chairs, a bar and a restaurant.

The roundtrip cruise-tour from Cairo includes a cruise between Luxor and Aswan and visits to Cairo's Egyptian Museum, the pyramids and the Sphinx, the Temple of Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, a Nubian village, and other ancient Egyptian temples and sites.

For the land portion, guests will stay at the Mena House Hotel with views of the Pyramids in Giza just outside of Cairo. In Luxor, accommodations will be at the Sofitel Winter Palace. The Sofitel Legend Old Cataract is the hotel in Aswan, and the St. Regis will be home base in Cairo.

Fares for the five 2018 and six 2019 departures start at $6,395 per person, based on double occupancy.

Scenic has also added a 10-day land tour in Jordan that can be combined with the Egypt itinerary, and a 34- or 43-day mega trip that begins in South Africa's Cape Town, includes visits to Victoria Falls and the Masai Mara, and ends with the 20-day Egypt and Jordan itinerary.

Two four-day vacation extensions are also available either to Dubai or to Israel
