U River Cruises is postponing the start of the 2020 season due to low spring demand.

A spokesman for the line confirmed the delay, saying that "with strong demand skewing toward the summer and fall seasons, we've decided to update U's 2020 inaugural departure date to early May, which will feature the brand's previously announced new itineraries and programming."

The delay is the just the latest in a string a slow starts for the line, which was originally developed by Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection as a line for millennials.

Before it was even launched, the company scrapped the millennials-only limit, focusing instead on "the young at heart."

Last year, the company pulled the B out of service for the season to reposition it to Central Europe, citing stronger demand on those rivers.

This year, the B is scheduled to sail the Rhine from Amsterdam to Frankfurt and Amsterdam to Brussels. The A is sailing the Danube and the Main.
