AMSTERDAM -- Viking will launch winter sailings on the Danube River in 2025, expanding its existing offerings of year-round river cruises.
The river line, which made the announcement here at the third annual ASTA River Cruise Expo, will sail a new itinerary on the Danube in January, February and March, starting Jan. 5.
The 10-day Treasures of the Danube itinerary will operate between Budapest and Passau, Germany, with overnights in Budapest, Vienna and Passau.
Guests can add on pre- and post-cruise extension packages that include a two-night stay in Budapest, a three-night stay in Prague or a four-night stay in Prague and Nuremberg.
There are also premium pre- and post-cruise options available for Budapest and Prague, which include higher-end hotel stays at properties like the Four Seasons and the Augustine Hotel Prague.
Treasures of the Danube is the second winter itinerary to launch since the company debuted its winter sailings last December with the 10-day Treasures of the Rhine cruise between Amsterdam and Basel, focusing on the middle Rhine region.
Treasures of the Danube fares start at $2,199 per person.
