Viking took delivery on March 18 of its newest river ship, the Viking Nerthus, which will cruise in France.
The ship, which was handed over at Meyer's Neptun Werft shipyard in Rockstock-Warnemuende, Germany, holds 168 passengers and features the company's signature Scandinavian design.
The Nerthus will sail two itineraries: Paris & the Heart of Normandy and Christmastime in Paris & Normandy.
Paris & the Heart of Normandy will take travelers roundtrip from Paris on an eight-day cruise, where they will have views of the Eiffel tower from the ship's exclusive docking location. Guests will visit the beaches of Normandy and explore locations like Giverney, where the artist Claude Monet lived and worked.
"France continues to be a destination of great interest for our guests," said Torstein Hagen, chairman and CEO of Viking, "and with the arrival of our newest ship on the Seine River, we look forward to introducing even more curious travelers to the region's rich history and cultural treasures in 'the Viking way.'"
