Air Transat and Sabre have extended their GDS contract by a month, Air Transat vice president of commercial Benjamin Pron said.

The move means that the Montreal-based leisure carrier's ticketing inventory will remain in Sabre beyond what previously was the Sept. 17 deadline for a contract renewal.

Over the next month, the two sides will continue working toward completing a new agreement, Pron added.

Sabre did not respond to requests for comment.

In early August, Pron had written a letter to travel agencies advising them that Air Transat would potentially exit Sabre on Sept. 17 as the contractual deadline loomed.
