British Airways will make Cincinnati its 27th U.S. destination.

BA will fly between London Heathrow and Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport five times a week, beginning June 5. The route will switch to four times per week for the winter season.

The carrier will operate the route with a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with business, premium economy and economy cabins.

"Not only will this open up these destinations to customers on each side of the Atlantic, but it will also improve connectivity between the Cincinnati region, Europe and beyond, with opportunities to connect to our wider network via London," said Neil Chernoff, British Airways' director of network and alliances.

The London service will be the second transatlantic flight out of Cincinnati, joining Delta's service to Paris Charles de Gaulle.
