Carrier Revises Change Fee Rule

INDIANAPOLIS -- American Trans Air revised change fees and unaccompanied-minor rules and reminded agents of its reduced-rate travel dress code.

  • ATA standardized fees for voluntary changes, refunds and lost ticket applications from $50 to $60.
  • Travel agents who handle exchanges or refunds will be paid a flat fee of $10.
  • ATA adopted a $30 fee each way for unaccompanied minors on direct domestic flights and $60 each way on direct international flights. The fees used to apply to connecting service only. The carrier requires minors under the age of 18 traveling to Mexico alone, with one parent or with a person who is not a parent to present a notarized letter of consent for travel from both parents.
