The House and Senate have passed a bill that will extend funding for the FAA through May 10.

A signature is expected from President Biden March 8 ahead of an end-of-day deadline.

Congress had originally been scheduled to complete a five-year FAA reauthorization by Sept. 30. Instead, this will be the third short-term funding extension as the House and Senate work to iron out a bill.

The House passed its version of FAA reauthorization in July on a bipartisan basis. The Senate transportation committee approved its version of the bill last month, also in bipartisan fashion. Negotiations between the two legislative bodies on a final bill are underway.
