Ethiopian Airlines will make Chicago O'Hare its fourth U.S. destination on June 9.

The thrice-weekly service between Chicago and Addis Ababa will make a fueling stop in Dublin on flights to Chicago.

Ethiopian will operate the route with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

The carrier operates Africa's most extensive network, serving some 55 destinations on the continent. It flies to the U.S. destinations of Washington Dulles, Newark and Los Angeles.

The O'Hare flight will be the only direct service between Africa and Chicago. Ethiopian said that flying to O’Hare will allow the airline to leverage its partnership with United, a fellow Star Alliance member.
