Frontier Airlines has announced seven new winter seasonal routes.

Three will serve Cancun daily, from Detroit, Chicago Midway and Minneapolis-St. Paul. The discount carrier will also introduce a fourth international route, flying thrice weekly between Philadelphia and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Frontier's other winter additions are daily Minneapolis-Fort Myers, thrice weekly Detroit-Fort Myers and daily Baltimore-Tampa.

All of the new routes are scheduled to launch Nov. 16 except Philadelphia-Santo Domingo, which begins Dec. 17.

Frontier will compete against Delta and Spirit on Detroit-Cancun, Delta and Sun Country on Minneapolis-Cancun, and Southwest on Chicago Midway-Cancun, Cirium schedule data shows.

On the Fort Myers routes, Frontier will compete against Delta and Spirit from Detroit and against Delta and Sun Country from Minneapolis. Southwest is slated to fly Minneapolis-Fort Myers, but only twice a week in March and early April.

Frontier will compete against Southwest and Spirit on Baltimore-Tampa and is the first to announce service between Philadelphia and Santo Domingo.

Also, Frontier announced the planned resumption of eight winter seasonal routes, mostly beginning in November.
