Southwest Airlines will soon offer free same-day standby with Wanna Get Away fares, the carrier's lowest-priced product.

In a post Thursday on X (the social media platform formerly known as Twitter), Southwest noted the upcoming change but didn't offer a specific rollout date.

The carrier already offers free same-day standby for its three other fare categories: Business Select, Anytime and Wanna Get Away Plus.

In another change, Southwest will soon allow customers to sign up for for standby digitally or via its app, instead of only with a gate agent.

The airline also announced Thursday that it will soon offer free WiFi for Business Select flyers.
