Houston Bush Intercontinental Airport has opened a new ticketing lobby in its Terminal E.
The facility, part of a $1.46 billion overhaul of the airport, features 10 new TSA screening lanes and is facilitating the return of curbside departing passenger drop-offs at Terminal E for the first time since 2021, when the prior ticketing lobby was closed.
With the opening, United Airlines passengers flying out of Terminal E will no longer need to check in at terminal C.
The ticketing lobby is the first new opening in Terminal E in 2025. Later this year, the Terminal E departure facility will evolve into a larger International Central Processor (ICP), which will house check-in facilities for foreign airlines currently utilizing the airport's Terminal D check-in lobby. At that time, seven additional TSA lanes will open in Terminal E. The ICP will also have a new baggage-handling system and be home to new concession facilities.
The Houston Bush expansion included the opening last fall of six new widebody gates in its international Terminal D. A refresh of that terminal was completed in 2023.
Separately, hub carrier United is financing a $1.9 billion expansion of Terminal B in partnership with Houston Airport System.
