In 2025, U.S. travel agency airline ticket sales crossed the $100 billion threshold for the first time.

According to ARC, agencies sold $100.4 billion in airline tickets last year, up 1% from 2024 amid dips in consumer confidence that affected airlines, especially in the first half of the year, and economy flying.

The figures account for sales by leisure and corporate agencies, including online travel agencies (OTAs). Direct sales by airlines aren’t included.

For the year, total passenger trips increased 3%, with U.S. domestic trips up 2% and international trips up 4%.
Numbers were boosted by a strong December in which travel agencies sold $7.2 billion in airline tickets, a 7% increase.

NDC-enabled transactions accounted for 21.2% of total ARC-settled transactions in December, up slightly from 20.3% the previous December. Historically, the vast majority of NDC bookings have been transacted by OTAs.
