WestJet later this year will shut down its low-cost subsidiary Swoop.

The news came inside of a June 9 announcement that WestJet and the Air Line Pilots Association had ratified a collective bargaining agreement.

The carrier said it would integrate its Swoop operations by the end of October. Swoop will operate its existing network through the end of its published schedule on Oct. 28.

Swoop employees will move to WestJet, according to the carrier.
