The House of Representatives on Monday passed a bill that would extend funding of the FAA through July 15. The bill passed with a voice vote after 40 minutes of floor debate.
The Senate is likely to take up the bill before the week is out, ahead of Congress’ 10-day Easter holiday recess, which begins March 21.
The FAA’s current funding authorization expires on March 31.
A longer-term Senate reauthorization bill is scheduled for a Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation hearing on Wednesday, but even if it passes out of the committee, the bill is not expected to reach the Senate floor until April.
