The State Department has issued a Level 3 travel advisory (reconsider travel) for Italy because of the Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, and a Level 4 advisory (do not travel) for Lombardy and Veneto, Italy’s most infected regions.

The cities of Milan and Venice are in Lombardy and Veneto, respectively. Delta and American have suspended their Milan routes.

The State Department says the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Italy and to follow guidelines for the prevention of coronavirus if they decide to travel.

The CDC advises “having a plan to depart from Italy that does not rely on U.S. government assistance.”
