The Azul Fives Hotel by Karisma is scheduled to open Nov. 1 in Playa del Carmen.
The property will be the third on the Riviera Maya under the Azul brand: Azul Sensatori Hotel made its debut in November 2008, and the Azul Beach Hotel opened in December 2005.
The all-suite Azul Fives will contain 360 one-, two- and three-bedroom suites, private rooftop lounge decks, a variety of dining options, a sky bar overlooking the Caribbean and a 15,000-square-foot spa.
Each suite will have LCD flat-screen TVs and DVD players, minibars, marble bathrooms with rainfall showers and oversize balconies or terraces. Penthouse Suites have private rooftop lounge decks with a deluxe double whirlpool, large lounging area with a sectional sofa and coffee table, chaise lounges, charcoal grill, outdoor shower, half marble bathroom with sink and a patio dining table with an umbrella.
Two- and three-bedroom suites (1,300 to 1,500 square feet) will accommodate up to eight people and include separate living rooms, fully equipped kitchens with granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, powder room, and master bathroom with rainfall showers.
Azul Fives will have two meal plans: Gourmet Inclusive or European Plan.
The Gourmet Inclusive plan includes meals at any of Azul Fives Hotel's gourmet restaurants; local and international alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages; 24-hour room service; fitness center, sauna and steam room; DVD rental menu; snorkeling and kayaking; full-service concierge; daily and nightly entertainment and live music; and Kid's Club.
With the European Plan at Azul Fives Hotel, guests have access to daily activities programs, nightly entertainment, tennis court, table games, shuffleboard, volleyball, Spanish and Mayan lessons, stretching, aqua aerobics, dance and cooking classes, scuba diving clinics, swimming pools and full-service concierge.
European Plan rates range from $282 for a Deluxe Suite to $1,229 for a three-bedroom Penthouse Suite accommodating up to eight people. Gourmet Inclusive stays -- featuring all gourmet meals served a la carte, premium alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, 24-hour room service and full-service concierge -- begin at $235 per person, per night.
