MEXICO CITY -- Camino Real Hotels will call its new brand of hotels
in Mexico geared to business travelers Camino Real Ejecutivo.
Five hotels currently are planned, each located in major
business and industrial areas throughout Mexico, including Mexico
City, Guadalajara, Saltillo and Torreon.
The concept has undergone some changes since it was first reported on TWcrossroads in February 2001.
Back then, plans called for two categories of hotels within the
brand, one with 60 to 120 rooms and "extremely limited" services,
and a second category with 100 to 150 rooms and more extensive
services.
Instead, there will be just one category, with each hotel having
between 120 and 150 rooms, and facilities and amenities like
24-hour business centers, dual-line phones with dataports, fax
machines, and oversize work desks.
The hotels also will feature dedicated meeting rooms,
restaurants and bars, and fitness centers.
The first member of the brand will be the Camino Real Ejecutivo
Perinorte, which is scheduled to open in December in an industrial
area north of Mexico City.
The $10 million, 137-room hotel will have more than 3,200 square
feet of meeting space and charge an introductory rate of $90 a
night.
"Camino Real Ejecutivo will set a new trend in business travel
in Mexico," said Olegario Vazquez Aldir, chief executive officer of
Camino Real Hotels and Resorts.
"With Ejecutivo, we set out to create a brand that satisfies the
needs of the most demanding business traveler, offering streamlined
service that meet today's conservative corporate T&E budgets
without compromising the high standards of Mexican hospitality and
design that guests expect from Camino Real," he said.
