Chicago's first hotel under Starwood Hotels & Resorts' Design Hotels boutique hotel group will open in November.
The Robey, which is named for the street that would become Chicago's Damen Avenue, will be a redevelopment of a 1929 art deco building. The 12-story hotel, which is located on the border of Chicago's Wicker Park and Bucktown districts, will have 69 rooms, some of which will have views of the city's skyline.
The hotel will have a ground-floor restaurant called Cafe Robey and will open a rooftop bar next spring.
Starwood acquired a majority stake in Berlin-based Design Hotels in 2011, and agreed to launch a co-marketing agreement with the boutique hotel collection last year. There are more than 250 Design Hotels worldwide.
