Expedia is broadening the services it offers hotels by adding a real-time guest-feedback tool and making it easier to unload last-minute inventory.

The online agency said that with Real Time Feedback, guests who book hotel rooms through Expedia are e-mailed or texted three questions upon checking in, asking them about the check-in and room experience. The responses are then immediately forwarded to the hotel.

Expedia said that its Sell Tonight tool enables hotels to market same-day room availability more efficiently.

Both services went live in some U.S. test markets and will be rolled out globally throughout the year.
