Jim Justice, owner of the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.V., has released details on his luxury train service between the resort and Washington, D.C., scheduled to launch in July 2012.
The service, to be called the Greenbrier Presidential Express, will use a 15-car train able to accommodate 240 passengers for the six-hour trip. There will be an open-air car affording views and photo opportunities.
The hotel's decor will be "applied to the train's interior and exterior," according to Justice.
"Everything from the decor to the food will make you feel as if you are already at the resort," Justice said.
Craftsmen in Pottstown, Pa., are refurbishing the train cars. The Greenbrier said the cars were originally built in the 1950s and served as long-distance trains for the Union Pacific and Santa Fe railroads.
