Hard Rock International has proposed a 600-room hotel as
part of a multi-phase $2.3 billion casino-resort project to be built near the
PortAventura World theme park in Spain.
The guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tarragona
will have a 70,000-square-foot pool and pool deck.
The hotel will be part of Hard Rock Entertainment World, a
development located about 70 miles southwest of Barcelona. The development also
will have a 500-room hotel geared toward families, a retail area with some 75
shops and a 15,000-seat entertainment venue. Hard Rock hasn’t disclosed a time
frame for the development.
PortAventura World’s first phase opened in 1995 and
previously operated under the Universal theme park brand. The park added
Ferrari Land in April.
