Hyatt Hotels has launched
the Unbound Collection, a “soft brand” of independent luxury and upper-upscale
hotels. Hyatt joins other major companies in launching a hotel collection,
including Marriott, Choice, Hilton, Carlson Rezidor and Starwood.
The Unbound Collection has
launched with the Driskill Hotel in Austin, Texas; the Hotel du Louvre in Paris;
the Carmelo Resort & Spa in Carmelo, Uruguay; and the Coco Palms Resort on
the Hawaiian island of Kauai, which is expected to undergo a revitalization and
reopen in spring 2018.
“It’s a collection of
stays, not just hotels,” Hyatt CEO Mark Hoplamzazian said in a video. “The
Unbound Collection by Hyatt gives us a new way to grow our offerings beyond
traditional hotels stays in destinations we know our guests love.”
