Outdoor hospitality specialist Jet Hospitality has expanded into Wyoming with its acquisition of the Virginian Hotel in Medicine Bow and the Park Motel in Powell.
The Virginian, which Jet Hospitality says has been a Wyoming landmark for over a century, will undergo renovations and ultimately operate as a "museum-style destination concept."
Plans for updated food and beverage -- including a café, supper club and fine-dining restaurant -- are in the works. The property's Shiloh Saloon, which is said to be among the oldest bars in the state, will be preserved.
The Park Motel will also undergo a revamp, with that property expected to debut this summer as one of the first outposts of Jet Hospitality's new Jet Motor Inn brand.
Jet Hospitality describes Jet Motor Inn as a "retro fab, roadside-boutique hotel brand," which it plans to expand along historic routes like the Lincoln Highway as well as interstate markets along the I-80 corridor.
The two Wyoming properties join Jet Hospitality's existing portfolio of outdoors-oriented lodging options across the Pacific North and Rocky Mountain West, which includes lodges, tiny homes, and glamping and RV sites across Washington, Idaho, Montana and Utah.
The expansion comes as the lifestyle hospitality sector races to meet growing demand for boutique lodging located near national parks and other nature-focused U.S. destinations.
