London's Trafalgar Hotel has been renamed the Trafalgar St. James after an extensive renovation and has become the first U.K. property to join Hilton's Curio Collection of independently operated hotels

The Trafalgar St. James is located in central London on the south side of Trafalgar Square and was once home to the offices of the Cunard Steamship Co.

The property has 146 rooms, including 15 suites, and has been updated to include guestroom wall art illustrations of some of London's most prominent musicians. October will mark the debut of Rooftop, a rooftop bar and dining area formerly known as the Vista. That 4,000-square-foot area will include an open fireplace, heaters and a "blanket section." The hotel also includes an underground lounge called Biblio.

Hilton continues to add to its Curio Collection in major European destinations. The group, which also includes hotels in Rome; London; Siena, Italy; and Ibiza, Spain, added the French Riviera's Grand Hotel Des Sablettes Plage in June.
