Martinique hotel to become a Radisson

The 175-room Radisson Hotel & Spa Martinique will open at the end of 2011, following a $10 million renovation of the former Hotel La Bateliere.

The hotel is on the island’s east coast, 8 miles from the international airport.

Radisson currently has Caribbean resorts in Aruba, Grand Bahama and St. Martin.

"This property represents another step toward expanding Radisson as a consistent first-class brand as part of our Ambition 2015 growth strategy," said Thorsten Kirschke, Carlson Hotels' executive vice president and chief operating officer for the Americas. Carlson owns the Radisson brand.

Carlson Hotels' Ambition 2015 plan calls for the expansion and upgrade of Radisson.
