Ahead of Tropical Storm Nicole, Orlando theme parks close

Theme parks in Orlando are preparing for the arrival of Tropical Storm Nicole with early closures Wednesday and anticipated closures Thursday morning.

Walt Disney World Resort's theme parks will close in a phased manner Wednesday starting at 5 p.m. and are expected to remain closed through Thursday morning. Disney encouraged guests to enjoy meals at the parks before they close.

Disney's Animal Kingdom will close Wednesday at 5 p.m. Hollywood Studios will close at 6 p.m. Magic Kingdom Park and Epcot will both close at 7 p.m.

Disney had previously canceled extended evening hours at the Magic Kingdom on Wednesday.

Typhoon Lagoon water park will be closed Thursday, as will its miniature golf courses, which will close early Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Universal's Volcano Bay water park was closed Wednesday.

Universal Orlando Resort, including CityWalk, will close Wednesday at 5 p.m. Its hotels will remain open.
Universal said it anticipates a delayed opening Thursday.

SeaWorld Orlando will be closed Thursday. The park intends to reopen Friday.
