Melia Hotels International is expanding its luxury, all-inclusive Paradisus by Melia brand into Europe early next year, with a pair of openings slated for Spain's Canary Islands.

The Paradisus Gran Canaria, Las Palmas is on track to debut in January, while sister property Paradisus Salinas, Lanzarote is expected to open in March.

Both family-friendly properties will showcase Melia Hotels International's recently launched Destination Inclusive concept, under which a selection of activities and experiences outside the hotel are also included in the stay.

Currently, the Paradisus by Melia portfolio features 10 all-inclusives located throughout Mexico and the Dominican Republic.

Rapid worldwide expansion

The European announcements come amid a period of rapid expansion for Melia Hotels International, with the company concurrently detailing plans to open the Ngorongoro Lodge, a Melia Collection Hotel in Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater volcanic area this coming June, and the Palazzo Cordusio, a Gran Melia Hotel in Milan in the third quarter of 2023.

Other Melia Hotels International projects in the pipeline for 2023 and 2024 include the ME Lisbon; ME Malta; ME Guadalajara; and Gran Melia Nha Trang in Vega City, Vietnam.
