Ritz-Carlton has reflagged the renovated Hotel de la Paix,
which sits on Switzerland's Lake Geneva.
The 152-year-old hotel has 74 rooms, including a
presidential suite named after former frequent guest Grace Kelly.
The hotel affords views of Mont Blanc and includes public-area
tapestries depicting historic figures who have striven for peace ("paix"
is the French word for peace), including Victor Hugo and Giuseppe Garibaldi.
Owned by the Manz family, the hotel once housed regular
guests such as actor-director Orson Welles and Monaco's royal family.
The hotel has two new restaurants, including Fiskebar, designed
to look like a traditional Scandinavian fish market. The hotel has also added a
Philippe Pascoet chocolate shop, named for the Swiss maser chocolatier.
The property was previously operated by Concorde Hotels
& Resorts.
