The Riu Palace Macao in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, reopened earlier this month after a four-month, $13.7 million renovation and conversion to Riu's first adults-only property in the Caribbean.
The all-inclusive, 364-room resort is one of five Riu hotels in Punta Cana. The others are the Riu Palace Bavaro, Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Bambu and Riu Naiboa.
The Riu Palace Macao has new furniture and bathrooms in guestrooms, the new Capuchino Café in the lobby, two new restaurants to complement the three existing restaurants, a casino and the Copacabana open-air amphitheater. WiFi is free in the guestrooms and lobby.
The kids zone was removed from the pool area to make way for a new pool and swimup bar adjacent to the redesigned central pool.
Guests can use the spas at the neighboring Riu Palace Punta Cana and Riu Palace Bavaro.
