Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas is making its Central American debut with the opening of the Six Senses Papagayo in Costa Rica.

Scheduled to open by mid-2021, the Six Senses Papagayo will be located on the Papagayo Peninsula. The area, which is already home to several luxury hotel and residential developments and 15 miles of coastline, also functions as a nature preserve, with around 70% of the peninsula's land mass expected to remain untouched.

Six Senses Papagayo will feature 41 pool villas as well as 31 residences. The wellness-focused resort will offer a variety of health-centric amenities, including an organic farm with fruit, vegetable and herb gardens and spa treatments.

The property is one of 18 new Six Senses locations currently in the brand's pipeline. It will join Six Senses' existing portfolio of 19 luxury hotels and resorts across 14 countries.

InterContinental Hotels Group, which acquired the Six Senses brand for $300 million in February, has said that it plans to grow the flag's footprint to around 60 hotels over the next 10 years.
