Arlo Hotels, a brand offering small, hyper-designed rooms, opened its first hotel on Tuesday, in Lower Manhattan.

The Arlo Hudson Square has 325 guestrooms at a maximum of 165 square feet. The rooms feature walnut furnishings and wool-tufted area rugs.

The property also has a rooftop bar with Hudson River views, an indoor/outdoor courtyard, and a lounge called the Library where guests can play vintage board games and watch classic movies. The hotel will add a restaurant helmed by Harold Moore.

A second Arlo hotel is due to open in New York’s NoMad neighborhood in November.

Arlo is in the same segment as small-room specialists Yotel, Pod and Citizen M.
