PARIS -- Sofitel
will begin renovations on its Polynesian resorts this month with
work on the Sofitel Marara Bora Bora and the Sofitel Ia Ora Moorea,
followed by work on the Sofitel Maeva Beach Tahiti to begin in
April.
The renovation at
the Sofitel Marara Bora Bora, slate for completion in
mid-September, will include the building of 13 overwater bungalows
and the renovation of the previously existing bungalows.
None of the
overwater bungalows will be available during the renovation;
however, beach and garden bungalows will still be
rented.
The resort also will
undergo renovations to its front desk, lobby and restaurant, and
the building of a new beach bar, swimming pool, Japanese
restaurant, a spa and a meetings room.
The Sofitel Ia Ora
Moorea will be renovated beginning this month as well, but the
hotel will remain open.
The 20 overwater
bungalows will be renovated, but some will remain open. In
addition, 19 new overwater bungalows will be built, beginning in
October.
Further renovations
will continue into 2006, including the rebuilding of 60 beach and
garden bungalows and the renovation of the lobby, front desk and
beach restaurant.
Meanwhile, the
Sofitel Maeva Beach Tahiti will begin refurbishments in April and
will be closed through July.
All 218 rooms will
be renovated, as well as the front desk, lobby, the Bougainville
restaurant, the swimming pool and a pool bar.
