WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Starwood Hotels & Resorts was tapped to
manage two distinctly different properties.
The hotel firm will assume management of London's Lanesborough
hotel under its St. Regis brand on May 29, the same day the hotel's
management agreement with Rosewood Hotels & Resorts is set to
end.
The 95-room Lanesborough will bring to 11 the number of
properties managed under the St. Regis brand.
Rosewood has managed the Lanesborough since it opened in a
converted historic building overlooking Hyde Park in 1992.
Meanwhile, Starwood said it was tapped to manage the 500-room
Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa, which is scheduled to open in
October within a 372,000-acre reservation in Phoenix owned by the
Gila River Indian Community (GRIC).
The resort, which is owned by the GRIC, will be managed under
the Sheraton brand.
It will feature a 1,000-acre equestrian center, a
17,500-square-foot spa, two 18-hole golf courses and an adjacent
casino.
