Stone Brewing plans to open its first “brewery hotel” in
Escondido, about 30 miles north of San Diego, in early 2018.
The Stone Hotel will be located adjacent to the Stone
Brewing World Bistro & Gardens. The property will have 99 rooms and will
feature a 10,000-square-foot rooftop garden. The hotel’s driveway design will
include the image of beer flowing from a tap.
Guests will receive a complimentary beer at check-in and
in-room growler service. (A growler is a jug used for the transport of draft
beer.)
The hotel will operate under a licensing agreement between
Stone Brewing and hotel developer and operator Untitled Hospitality, which was founded
last year by Robert Cartwright, who formerly worked for Starwood Hotels &
Resorts.
Stone Brewing, the 10th-largest craft brewery in the U.S., is
known for beers such as Stone IPA. It was founded in 1996 and employs about
1,200 people.
